What About Exercise to Lose Weight?

Hey everyone. This website’s focus is about using intermittent fasting, a diet, to lose weight. With that said, one question that constantly comes up is What About Exercise to Lose Weight?

Well, my answer is a little a complicated so allow me to explain. First off, NO you technically do not need exercise to lose weight. Losing weight is all about consuming fewer calories so if you are eating less then you will lose weight. BUT if you do not exercise, you will be losing unhealthy weight. In other words, you will be burning both muscle and fat. Healthy weight loss is all about burning fat while preserving or building your muscle.

With that said, exercise is needed to preserve and or build muscle. So in order to promote healthy weight loss you need both exercise and dieting. But it is important to realize the function of diet and exercise because not understanding this can lead you to relying on one of them too much. For example, people often just focus on exercising to lose weight. The reason they can’t lose weight with exercise only is due to the fact that exercise increases your appetite as well. So if you do not have your diet under control then you will not lose weight.

Bottom line, focus on eating less to burn fat and exercising to preserve your muscle. You can’t have one without the other for healthy weight loss.

Intermittent Fasting Diet Plan

One of the more popular diet plans out there is the intermittent fasting diet plan. It has become very popular for its ability to help you burn fat and promote muscle growth.

With that said, what is a intermittent fasting diet plan?

An intermittent fasting diet plan is not your typical diet protocol. Its essence is that the bulk of the time you’re fasting and you feed in small intervals. The three main plans are as follows.

Intermittent Fasting Diet Plans

1. 16/8

For 16 hours a day you do not eat. While eating is allowed during remaining 8 hours of the day. Today, many skip breakfast and eat one meal around 12 and one meal at 8.

2. 24 - hour fasting a week.

This approach is very simply. Once a week, fasting for an entire 24 hours.

3. Warrior diet

For this intermittent fasting diet plan you are only to eat for 4 hours a day, which occurs in the late afternoon (4 to 8 pm).

What do I recommend?

I would start with the first program. The 16/8 intermittent fasting diet plan is without a doubt the easiest to start with. You can convert the first scheme in the second spontaneously, depending upon your work schedule.

Now that we’ve outlined each intermittent fasting diet plan, let’s figure out why it works?

Periodic fasting optimizes your hormones, which allows your body to use fat storage as fuel. If you follow the right intermittent fasting diet plan from above, you will notice these results.

Now a little discussion, hormones affect all of us. When people say something like “I have a good inheritance,” they mean “I have high testosterone levels.”

For example, a man who produces 1,200 nanograms of testosterone per deciliter of blood, has a huge advantage over the dude whose body is only capable of 500 ng/dL (even though both are in the normal range ). The first person is probably a mesomorph, who can eat chocolate all day and still look like the Hulk.

What am I trying to say with this analogy? Hormones are very important. So you must optimize your hormones in order to build muscle, which an intermittent fasting diet plan allows you to do.

Periodic fasting may help you produce 2-3 times the amount of testosterone you typically make.

It is impossible for the naked eye to determine the increase in testosterone levels, but we all know that when we eat, its levels are reduced. So the smaller the meals you eat during the 8 -hour window , more testosterone will be produced and remain in your body .

Insulin sensitivity is also increased, which helps your body to make better use of the incoming food.

More importantly, your body starts to burn fat more intensely because for most of the day there is no place to draw more energy from. While you’re starving, the body takes energy from the fat reserves.

Finally, sticking to this diet schedule is much easier than constant calorie counting. The key is to be consistent with this diet and ignore any hungry pains you may have.
